Hi! My name is Nissa Chadwick and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. More importantly I love Christ and his Church, I am a wife, a mom, and I believe God brings people into each other’s lives for a reason. Sometimes that reason is because he wants to use us as instruments of his healing.
Have you been thinking about calling a therapist because you are feeling anxious, irritable, overwhelmed, or maybe dissatisfied even when things are going well? Do you feel like there are so many things in your life to be thankful for yet you are still struggling to find and maintain peace?
Is your marriage “good” but you are not as close as you used to be? Have you always wanted deep intimacy in your marriage but haven’t ever quite gotten there? Maybe there has just been some changes that have added some stresses and strains to your marriage.
When we find ourselves struggling we know two things for sure. One, God wants to bring about healing and renewal. Two, our struggles are both born in relationships as well as healed in relationships. Often that healing takes place in our closest, healthiest relationships but even so sometimes we need a different a different, more neutral perspective.
The normative Christian life, no matter your vocation, should be one characterized by faith, hope, love, peace, joy, and meaning, even in the midst of suffering. If this is not how you would describe your life, and you think God may be inviting you to healing through the means of Catholic counseling, call me to explore the possibility today.
As for me, I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001. I have worked with kids in a residential treatment facility and their families, couples, and adults. I have taught graduate level counseling courses and undergraduate psychology course for the past 13 years. I specialize in individual psychotherapy for women rooted in a faithful, Catholic understanding of the human person and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.
